"No refugees need apply" might well be the slogan of the Trump Administration. What is it like at this time of backlash and polarization to lead a humanitarian agency that helps refugees?

David Miliband, president of the International Rescue Committee, tells Tempest Tossed host Alex Aleinikoff that refugees are “caught up in a wider discontent" about American immigration policy.

“When issues of immigration and issues of refugees are confused it’s bad for both immigrants and for refugees,” Miliband, a former foreign secretary of the U.K., says in this episode where he also discusses global trends on displacement.
